I am so pleased to say hello, my name is Elena Prospero, and was born in Toronto, raised in Vaughan, and strongly connected to the Ottawa Valley!
Coming from a home that has been greatly influenced by art and creativity from all sides, photography has beautifully fulfilled my life.
Having a mother with her camera in hand, at very important moments, she always captured the best memories.
I am so grateful that her love for the art of photography was so strong, because we can now appreciate the complete documentation of our lives.
The drive to our cottage in Ottawa in the summer as children filled my mothers heart with emotions; the landscapes along the Trans Canada Highway , from the endless rolling hills to the quaint towns in between, only to arrive at our Bay and canoe out to the beautiful sunsets, which are always contagious and absolutely a satisfying feeling to witness.
I thrive on the next adventure in order to seek more of the greatest landscapes!
Studying at OCAD University with some amazing and talented artists from 2005 to 2010 offered many inspiring experiences, and pushed me to want to improve.
As an individual artist, having the wonderful program to process concepts, and to further explore the medium added a new level of appreciation and respect to photography.
OCAD University has inspired me to continue learning, processing and loving my medium.
Most recently, I have completed my Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa, and look forward to teaching Art and Photography in years to come!
